10 goals and 4 goalkeepers, with Helgi Dagur there to capture it

Lengjubikarinn is still yet to get it’s proper review on this site, but a wild one in Kópavogur saw KÁ reach the final of the men’s C-tier competition. Before we get to the photos from Helgi Dagur Halldórsson, here’s a quick summary of the scoring:

That red card on 57 minutes was the KÁ goalkeeper who started the game on the bench and came on after half time due to Magnús Kristófer feeling unwell. That left the Ásvellir club needing to use their third stopper of the game, outfield player Hrafnkell Váli. Magnús was my guy in an old Football Manager save, I hope he’s feeling better for the final.

Bjarki Sigurjónsson, the KÁ captain, secured his hat-trick on 82 minutes and added another goal in stoppage time after Smári had scored their second and third.

Viktor Smári Elmarsson opened the scoring with his brace.

Þórður Örn Jónsson (KÁ, with the short socks) fights off Guðmundur Andri Ólason (Smári, a classic sock length), who scored at the start of the second half.

Nikola Djuric added to his two Milk Cup goals against KFR on the 5th with his 5th goal of the season across all competitions.

It wasn’t all smooth-sailing for Bjarki Sigurjóns, who is run aground here by Rökkvi Valberg Aðalsteinsson.

The scoring from Bjarki Sigurjóns did leave Smári well adrift though, which was valuable stress relief once the home side found their late pair of goals.

One more of Bjarki. He was the 4.deild golden boot in 2024 with 16 in 16 games, and he also scored a brilliant free kick in the cup against KR.

Alexander Fannberg Gunnarsson was the top scorer for Smári in 5.deild last season with 18 goals, good for a share of 3rd most in the division.

Kári Snorrason got the final goal for Smári.

Brynjar Bjarkason on the left wing for KÁ.
