• Just a quick recap of scores from the first two rounds of the men's Milk Cup now that it's in the books and the Round of 32 has started.

Some near-upsets in R1 with 2deild sides Haukar and Víkingur Ólafsvík needing Extra Time to see off opponents from two tiers below. I've also highlighted two games between same-level teams: a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes turning into a 4-2 win for Úlfarnir after ET, while Smári were on the better end of a game that exploded with it's final three goals coming in the matter of a few minutes.

Round 2 saw the upsets come to fruition though. Kórmákur/Hvöt and Tindastóll both overcoming teams from a league above themselves, while most curiously 4deild's Álftanes comfortably removed 2deild side Kári from the competition.

A few notes:
- a few games in R1 were not played. I believe those go down as 3-0 wins but I used a "W" to signify it was by "walkover". The first two were away sides unable to fulfill the fixture due to weather or players not being ready, whereas Spyrnir have withdrawn from competition this year. More on that in a future post.
- I've added the blue tab to show what division each team is in. I have used "6D" for Útandeild just to make the realtive levels clear, however I have used letters for the top two tiers as they are well known.
- Árborg had a player sent off against Víkingur, but I have not included it in the boxscore because the player it is attributed to on the KSÍ match report is also said to have been substituted long before and I don't want to misattribute the red card. I am often at the mercy of those match reports which are often full of mistakes.
  • Still to come: We will be catching up similarly with the other tiers of Lengjubikarinn, plus the first two rounds of the Men's Cup...
