First Division arrivals

For these top two levels, I’ve not included any players who were included in the previous article, which is mostly arrivals from abroad.

I won’t dive too deep into many individual transfers in this article, but this is a good time to bring up those affiliate-type transfers where a player is recalled from a de facto reserve or youth team to play for the bigger team. Promising youngsters who have been cutting their teeth in 2.kvk like Hildur Katrín, Hrönn Haralds (both with ÍH), and Líf Van Bemmel (Augnablik) now have another chance with FH and Breiðablik, while Hanna Kallmaier is a besta deild veteran with ÍBV and Valur but also had a chance to run out in one game with ÍH to tune up before playing for FH. On the men’s side the biggest proponents for recall seem to be Valur and KR who have brought up two players each from KH and KV respectively.

Second Division arrivals

Again we have some of those recalls and some have had an immediate impact, Ágústa María scoring goals for ÍBV and Rafael Máni with the equaliser for Fjölnir having been top scorer in 3.deild with Vængir Júpiters.

Third Division arrivals

Haukar men and women added quality with players like Guðmundur Axel and Tinna Hjaltalín standing out, while Robert Radic and Maria Abad come from abroad. Ismael Sidibe returns to Kormákur/HvÖt where he scored 21 goals in 20 games last year. Abdelhadi Khalok is also back to familiar territory as he goes from KFA to Víkingur Ólafsvík.

Fourth Division arrivals

From this tier on we only have men’s teams, so the overall number of transfers goes down a bit. Plus, as mentioned in part one, these lower divisions don’t have a “summer” transfer window but rather they are allowed to transfer players continuously between February and July. Only one signing from abroad and it’s the nephew of one of Iceland’s most famous ever players. Aside from that, what sticks out is that Hvíti riddarinn and Elliði are bringing in a lot of help on loan, which makes sense for the relegation-threatened former, but the latter seems to be pretty comofrtably in midtable.

Fifth Division arrivals

Even fewer transfers here, especially if you don’t count teams sending their youngsters down to junior affiliate clubs. The help from abroad is ramped up again though, especially for bottom club RB.

Sixth Division arrivals

Hey, we did it. At this level I made a point of not including players coming down from senior affiliate clubs at all, as it would have been more players than those that transferred the regular way. I wasn’t really sure if a few of these counted as that so I Included them. The promotion race is already virtually done with for most clubs, and there’s no relegation, so these players signed ahead of the final month of competition will hopefully be helping their clubs to build for next year.
